Good day.

This song says it all, it was a good day.

He answered: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'- Luke 10:27 a
Discussed this verse tonight during small group, giving God your all before giving it to a human. Pretty amazing concept..giving your whole heart and trusting it 100% with Him then with ourselves...or someone else. Definitely something we should all do.

I've got a lot of praying and thinking to do...knowing what the Lord calls you to do and ignoring what you want is difficult friends. Especially if it's something you want to be right on...but you're aren't sure if you are type of deal...is this making any sense?

Being sick sucks.

So this past week hasn't been the greatest. I got sick on Tuesday and have been feeling terrible ever since, went to the doctor's today and she told me I have an ear infection and the old run of the mill flu. Woohoo. So my bed has become my best friend and my dog my cuddle buddy (not complaining), but the worst part is having to miss school (woah what..) Okay missing school isn't that bad, but the school work and classes I miss? Yeah that's bad. So instead I get to sit on here and do make up work. Oh heck yeah! Prayers are welcome my sweet internet friends. :)

(thumbs up for fashion inspiration, right?!) well anyway check out these classy looking people:

Oh yeah for classy people!

Verse for your thoughts:
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

Boom shaka laka laka! Wow, don't conform to the patterns of this world. So hard to do right? Oh man, especially when everyone around you is really worldly and isn't 100% for the Lord..You know? It's so easy to get wrapped up in this world that we are living in.. The all time "coolness" right now is sleeping around, drinking, doing drugs, cursing.. Man, what happened to the world we are living in? Sin happened I suppose. You know, I've found it really hard to stay grounded in your faith..especially when you go to a worldly school and have worldly friends..that's where this verse comes to my mind:

                                                  Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.
                                                           Psalm 73:23, 24

Oh yeah! Who knew right? My God is always with me, not sometimes..but always. So next time you face yourself with some hard times and you just need someone to hold your hand and walk you through it..think of this verse. Because it's right, Our God is always with us.

Sigh

anyways.
"Faith in GOD means faith in HIS timing."- Neal A. Maxwell

That's kind of hard isn't it? I mean aren't we all humans that want everything how we want it and when we want it? Sometimes I start thinking (which isn't always a good thing) and I freak out..big time. I tend to get myself overwhelmed (hehe pun intended) and I don't know where to turn or more specifically..who to turn to.

"Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him, "You of little faith," He said, "why did you doubt?"- Matthew 14:31 (NIV)

Oh, "You of little faith" hmm sounds a lot like me at times. Okay more like a lot of times. What can I say? I do that big mistake of doubting..

"For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome.."- Deuteronomy 10:17 (NIV)

It's crazy how truly incredible our God is. He is merciful and just to forgive us of our sins. AND He has a plan for me (Jeremiah 29:11)?! We are truly blessed. Even when things seem to go terribly wrong..He has it all in HIS hands..not ours.

AFRICA!

It would be silly of me to say I have always had Africa on my heart. It actually started about 2 years ago when I met an awesome man of God. Him and his family were missionaries in Namibia, Africa and he came back to the US to study for his medical degree. That's when Africa was planted on my heart. Since then it's grown and I've come to long for it in a way that is indescribable. About a year ago, I met Stephen's amazing family, and well that just confirmed my longing to go and meet the amazing people of Africa. Also about a year ago, I met a good friend, who also has a heart for Africa and we can spend hours talking about it. I've come to the conclusion that I want to go sometime after I graduate, but of course, as we all know Africa costs money! Who knew right? Yeah, getting myself to Africa might just be too long of a walk/swim for me.. but I know my Lord is faithful and giving. If this is His will for my life, I will find myself, one day, walking the dirt roads of Africa. I've recently found a couple of Christian organizations that work in Africa. I know I definitely want to work with children while I am there and I've been blessed with reading about these organizations.

Wow, if you click any of those, you just feel moved..

"How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard?
And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent?"

"So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ."

-ee cummings

Love that quote so much. I don't know why, I just always have. I remember last year during my Sophomore Lit class we read a couple of poems by ee cummings and I also always found it strange how he never capitalized anything- and like the grammar nazi I am, it always bugged me but I suppose that is why I always found his writings so intriguing.

So, on a completely different note, I have recently joined the band wagon that is "Pinterest" and my oh my this may have been the best decision I've made in a while. I absolutely love it. Because of it I seriously want to re-decorate my whole room....and cook..a lot.

I leave you with this:
Owl always love you!

Good music, Good vibes.

One of the the few things I enjoy in life is sitting at the computer and discovering good, clean music. One of my all time favorite bands is Mumford & Sons, have you heard of them? (I bet you have.) They are absolutely amazing! And I promise you, if you like them you will love these sisters. I'm pretty sure if Mumford & Sons were women, they would be The Staves. One of my all time favorite instruments is the ukulele, and look at that..it's used in this song. Unfortunately, I cannot sing to save my life but if I did..oh how I would have loved to have a jam session with friends and just sit and play and sing.
But till the day the good Lord decides to bless me with a amazing voice, I will continue singing because well.."Every noise is a joyful noise!"

The Lord is My Rock, My Fortress, My Salvation.

Do you ever have those days where you just want to give up on all things that is life?
It seems that it would be easier to just leave everything behind then to continue forward and make yourself known.

"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. Be alert and sober minded. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." -1 Peter 5:7-8

Wow, what a powerful verse. "Cast ALL your anxiety on Him because He cares for you..." He. cares. for. me. What a concept that I have trouble understanding at times. God. The Creator of the universe, cares...for me!? What is this crazy concept? I'm a sinner and only human. Why would such a perfect and magnificent God care for someone like me? But that's just it.. Why wouldn't He care for me? The Bible screams of His love for me, and not only me..for all of us! He wants us to search Him, day and night.

So next time you seem to be completely overwhelmed and don't know what to do with yourself..remember this:

"But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved"-Ephesians 2:4-5
